JSimm Quad Serial is a JSimm/HSIO
board with four hardware UARTs. The data and address path is over the
HSIO bus from JStik. Each UART has a hardware interrupt on the JSimm
bus. There are enough JSimm pins to support three JSQS boards in a single
system. This is twelve hardware UARTs, plus you have the two on JStik
for a total of fourteen. This is the most freqently-requested peripheral
for JStik. Apparently, a lot of people want to build RS-232 to ethernet
concentrators, programmable in Java. Here is your solution.. All four
JSQS URATs can be RS232, and all are capable of 115 kbaud. One UART per
JSQS can be RS485, and one can be IrDA. So you could have a system with
three RS485, one IrDA, and eight RS232 ports.
